The establishment of this practice arose out of a need to respond not only to the development challenges in South Africa but also out of a vision to bring a new dimension to spatial planning and its associated requirements in human settlement planning and development, management and use of spatial information. The impetus has been the determination to provide a new edge in the way development projects are planned, managed and especially the quality assurance that go with it. We realised that the ‘development industry’ needed a company that will bridge the gap between responding to challenges in the traditional way and one that brings a new innovative and committed approach that is backed by a tested professionalism able to run or manage a project from the early conceptual planning stages, through implementation to completion and handover.
